Unfortunately the Abortion news is almost uniformly bad:

Pundit and Pundette reports that the president is pushing abortion in Kenya:

Administration officials have indeed sent a clear message to Kenya. After the Kenyan Parliament approved the abortion liberalizing draft constitution, the White House released a statement lauding the parliament’s decision and encouraging Kenyans to “see this important reform element through can help to turn the page to a promising new chapter of Kenyan history.”

Pundette reminds us also of the endorsement of all of this by the famously Catholic Joe Biden.

Meanwhile in the Senate Frank Lautenberg tries his best to keep American Taxpayers paying for Abortion worldwide, as Mass Citizens for life informs us:

Last Friday, Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D, NJ) introduced an amendment to the foreign appropriations bill that would make permanent President Obama’s overturning of the Mexico City Policy. which stops tax dollars from going to groups that promote and perform abortions overseas.

But that’s not all:

The legislation funnels millions more taxpayer dollars to groups like the United Nations Family Planning Fund (UNFPA), which has worked hand-in-hand with the population control officials in China to enforce the nation’s one-child policy with forced abortions and other human rights abuses.

On top of the $55 million to UNFPA, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) would get a $24 million raise. The USAID is currently funding (probably illegally) lobbying efforts to legalize abortion in Kenya’s constitution.

Just what we need to be financing with two wars and a bum economy.

In NJ Chris Christie vetoed a bill funding planned parenthood and the Democrats in NJ are on the warpath to override:

The vote in the Senate had been 30-10 with no abstentions and all Senators present and voting. Three of the seven Republican Senators had already told Friedman that they would vote against this bill. All four of the rest would have had to vote against party, including Beck, who would have had to come back from her China trip to cast the override vote. The latest press statement indicates that this will not happen.

However they voted to pass the override bill once, will the fold like wet blankets again? Time will tell.

Speaking of federal funding of abortion, thanks to the generous help of the US government and the support of the Fitchburg City Council Planned Parenthood will be opening its doors in town this Friday. Protests are planned for the day and your participation in them would be most welcome.

A protest is scheduled for their opening at 1 p.m. on Friday.

I still recall protesting earlier this year and having a man opposed to us going on about how good it is to rid ourselves of the minority freeloaders. What a disgrace.

…were concerned about protecting their members against management stepping on them:

“We’ve never really had this broad and direct an attack before,” said CWA Area Director Hetty Rosenstein. “We have in 30 years never raised our dues. We never had as great a need.”

I can see the reasoning, after all tighter time, management might be leaning heavy, perhaps firing people without cause. I’m sure the unions will be using those funds for that kind of thing won’t they?

the Communications Workers of America is asking its 40,000 state employee members to accept higher dues to pay for advertising campaigns that would push back against Gov. Chris Christie and other critics. emphasis mine

You know the union members had better get it through their head that their dues have basically become political slush funds that the leaders. And the people know it. If they didn’t then you wouldn’t have unions pushing laws to get rid of the secret ballot to get shops to unionize.

about the Union defeat reminds us of. Basically how dollars that are supposed to be used helping members are spent elsewhere as this post from the morning bell highlights:

In his ongoing battle with teachers unions, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) recently told a town hall in Robbinsville: “My argument is not with teachers in New Jersey. My argument is with a union who collects $730 a year from every teacher and school employee in the union in mandatory dues. And if you don’t want to join the union here’s your option: you can be out. You pay 85% of $730 … to be out. It’s like the Hotel California. You can check in anytime you like but you can never leave. That raises for the teachers union, get ready, $130 million a year. What do they spend that money on? … $6 million in negative advertising against me since March 16th. Think about that. That’s a little over two months they have spent $6 million on New York TV and Radio, Philadelphia TV and radio to attack me. That’s dues money that is coming from their teachers, mandatory no choice, and from all of you because those salaries come from your property taxes and your state income taxes.”

Between that $6 million and the $10 mil blown in Arkansas I ask those in unions? With your pension funds doing poorly do you think those dollars could have been spent better? Why don’t you ask your leadership?

…a million union leaders are going to be jumping off the bridge after this interview.

This guy had the answers to every question. When he said that teachers put in nothing to their pensions and he listed the benefits that was a body blow that it will be hard to spin, even to the MSNBC viewer.

They touched on the Teachers union “Praying for his death” business that was mentioned at Sister Toldjah mentioned here. Christie said the head of the union showed up to apologize, Christie said he suggested they show the apology was sincere by asked for that person’s resignation. The Union head stormed out.

If this is how Christie carries himself, the GOP should have him on every network show possible.
