I have not owned any apple machine since the mid 80, but my son when faced with the choice of a Vista machine or an Apple my kid choose the Macbook for about $1500, much more than any computer I ever picked up. He purchased the extended warrenty that boosted the cost up to $1700

Tonight my son was looking up some grades in his macbook when he finished he shut it down and closed it, no big deal. When he opened it up about 35 minutes later he found to his shock that the screen was cracked from top to bottom.

As the Apple service line is closed we will give them a ring tomorrow. The closest Apple store is in Natick so we will find out just how good the service and the Warranty is for Apple machines.

We will see if the Apple service lives up to their reputation. Either way I’ll let you know.

You don’t get much bigger than this:

The votes of every member of Congress affect every American, so it’s important for all of us to pay attention to this important Congressional campaign in upstate New York. I am very pleased to announce my support for Doug Hoffman in his fight to be the next Representative from New York’s 23rd Congressional district. It’s my honor to endorse Doug and to do what I can to help him win, including having my political action committee, SarahPAC, donate to his campaign the maximum contribution allowed by law.

Via The Other McCain more from the endorsement:

The federal government borrows, spends, and prints too much money, while our national debt hits a record high. Government is growing while the private sector is shrinking, and unemployment is on the rise. Doug Hoffman is committed to ending the reckless spending in Washington, D.C. and the massive increase in the size and scope of the federal government. He is also fully committed to supporting our men and women in uniform as they seek to honorably complete their missions overseas.

And best of all, Doug Hoffman has not been anointed by any political machine.

Doug Hoffman stands for the principles that all Republicans should share: smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense, and a commitment to individual liberty.

Political parties must stand for something. When Republicans were in the wilderness in the late 1970s, Ronald Reagan knew that the doctrine of “blurring the lines” between parties was not an appropriate way to win elections. Unfortunately, the Republican Party today has decided to choose a candidate who more than blurs the lines, and there is no real difference between the Democrat and the Republican in this race. This is why Doug Hoffman is running on the Conservative Party’s ticket.

Republicans and conservatives around the country are sending an important message to the Republican establishment in their outstanding grassroots support for Doug Hoffman: no more politics as usual.

Hot Air comments:

One note of warning: Although its congressional seat has traditionally been solid Republican, NY-23 did break for Obama last year. There is a Democratic presence there, which means there’s a risk that conservatives won’t be the only party base galvanized by her entrance into the campaign. For better or worse, some of her clout’s on the line here too, especially now that The One’s thrown in for the Democrat. Good luck, Palinistas.

The confirms the report earlier today. She has crossed the Rubicon now this does several things.

Media coverage of the race will increase.

The other 2012 contenders will have to take a stand.

The NRCC now has to make a choice to fight her or support her.

The left will pour everything they can in this race in the hopes of defeating “her”.

If Hoffman wins it will be a Palin win, if he loses then they will paint her as a “loser”.

If you want to lead you have to be willing to get up front, she is!

I wish I was in Robert Stacy’s shoes right now!

Update: How much do you want to bet that Glenn Beck is kicking himself for not having Hoffman on today as scheduled?

Update 2: Can someone explain to me why Robert Stacy’s post isn’t the lead one on Memorandum since he beat the standard by at least 20 min? I should have checked the time stamps rather than the 10 min ago on memorandum my bad!

Update 3: A John Adams moment:

Update 4: Why does the Dump Dede site have this news with a question mark?

The only person more depressed tonight than Dede Scozzafva has to be Newt Gingrich.

Update 5: I guess this beats my breaking news about conference in Egypt doesn’t it?

Update 6: Anyone what to make book that tomorrow on Morning Joe the panel will go on and on how this hurts the republican party and will emasculate Palin if Hoffman loses?

I have received the following e-mail from the Susan G. Komen for a cure organization updating this story:

Thank you for contacting Susan G. Komen for the Cure. We have new information from our founder, Nancy Goodman Brinker, on this situation.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure Pleased to Announce Egyptian Events to Welcome All Advocates, Including those from Israel

Statement from Nancy Goodman Brinker, Founder, Susan G. Komen for the Cure

Breast cancer advocates from the United States and across the Middle East are meeting in Egypt from October 21-27 for breast cancer awareness events. There have been reports that some of the invited participants would not be allowed to attend these events. Susan G. Komen for the Cure has now received confirmation that all advocates, regardless of their country of origin, are invited to fully participate in events to bring breast cancer to the forefront of public discussion in the Middle East.

After we received the initial report on the situation, we launched a diplomatic effort to ensure they would be able to participate. I am pleased to report that our efforts led to confirmation that all advocates would be welcome to participate in the events.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure remains steadfast in our mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever.

I am very pleased to hear it. I will do my best to confirm this.

UPDATE: Now being reported by JTA:

WASHINGTON (JTA) — Israeli scientists will be allowed to participate in an Egyptian conference hosted by Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The scientists’ invitations to the event had been revoked by order of Egyptian Health Minister Hatem el-Gabali.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a prominent advocate for breast cancer research, launched a successful diplomatic effort to reverse the decision.

“Susan G. Komen for the Cure has now received confirmation that all scientists, regardless of their country of origin, are invited to fully participate in events to bring breast cancer to the forefront of public discussion in the Middle East,” said the organization’s founder, Nancy Brinker.

Justice wins in the end, I’m glad they fought against it this injustice. I’m sure the pressure by Pam Geller, Gateway Pundit the ADL and my humble self was totally incidental.

Their web site also reports it. Wonderful!

Update: You are welcome Pamala.

Since I was proudly banned from lgf I’ve on occasion been looking at LGF Watch to see what they’ve been saying.

Charles insists that the right has left him but here are a few post from there:

Let’s see.. Quoting hateful and racist comments written on another website, then pointing out that they don’t get deleted or merit any sort of reprimand from moderators, in order to show what kind of trashy cesspool of hate this site is. And according to him, it’s just one installment of a recurring feature. Wait.. HOLY CRAP ON A STICK, Charles is becoming one of us now!

Aahh, screw it. Welcome to stalkerdom, Charles! :)

(Or at least, welcome to the spot where we were standing against you and your blog for.. I don’t know, several years on end?)

I don’t know the guys at LGF watch but I presume that one of the posters didn’t try planting comments at lgf overnight.

The second one says it better as they mark their 6th anniversary:

Too bad there’s no such thing as time travel (despite what some of the CERN boffins have been saying), because a conversation between today’s Charles Johnson and his 2003 self would be something to behold.

Well this shows that Charles Johnson (peace be upon him) hasn’t changed his stripes to earn friends, it is only (perhaps) earning him scorn.

Well there is always lgf2 maybe they can stalk them since pretty soon both will be getting more hits than either.
