In comments below name the republican candidate that you would be willing to vote for in the 2012 election instead of Barack Obama.

If you can’t name one then you are wasting your time complaining about him, he will do what he wants when and if he is ready to do it.

    Hi DaTechGuy –

I replied to your challenge over at my place, but I’ll repeat myself here:

I do not see any credible stars on the GOP horizon for 2012. But this isn’t necessarily about GOP v Dims.

I would be pleased to see Obama get challenged in the primary by someone who actually came from the left, like a Fiengold, or a Kucinich. I don’t think any of them will, being party loyalists, but it would be interesting. But then again, Dr. Dean might. There’s no love lost between him and Obama/RahmE.

But I think where he might get “taught a lesson” is in the midterms. I think this is the stay-tuned situation.

I think we are going to get along just fine!

I’m much more concerned about issues than I am about personalities.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments over at MPS. I hope you visit us again.

  3. GS says:

The three I’d be enthused about would be Sarah Palin, Alan Keyes, or Donald Carcieri (unfortunately, governing RI doesn’t get you much press).

Mitch Daniels, Duncan Hunter, Haley Barbour, are all solid choices, if a little more SoCon than I’d prefer.

I think Jan Brewer and Michelle Bachmann have a lot of potential; they just have to temper their public quotes a bit for mass consumption.

I really like John Hoeven, but I don’t know if he has the desire to be pres (part of why I wish he’d run).
