Forget the words. Just turn off the sound and look at it. The moment she flashes that first smile, the average person likes her. They can’t help it. It’s an autonomic response.
Whether “I like her” translates into “I want her to be Senator,” I can’t say. But we’ve recently elected a president whose chief politic assets are a resonant baritone voice and a vague resemblance to the Allstate man, so I think it unwise to underestimate the superficiality of voters in the Age of Image.
Morning Joe today has been playing the ad
The Morning Joe crowd is laughing their heads off. I’m sorry they have no clue. If I’m O’Donnell I’m playing the clip of them laughing at her at every rally there is. That clip of the Morning Joe team laughing at her is a fundraiser waiting to happen.
Memo to the left and MSNBC if your argument is “this person is a lunatic” the best plan is not to play an ad the screams “normal”.

This ad is perfect in every way. Well done to her PR team! Most Americans distrust journalists and this ad plays to that feeling with restraint.

You’re viewing it from the perspective that willfully ignored her flaws as you cheer leaded her into the candidacy. More level heads of Kirsten Powers and SE Cupp just panned the ad on Fox. Yes it was cute, but no one think she’s a witch. We won’t forget about the mice people, China taking over America, etc.
I haven’t forgotten any of her flaws, nor have I ignored the context of both sets of her remarks that you bring up, but more importantly while the national media makes a fuss, this is running in local media and she is doing her appearances in Delaware proper, where the MSM and I (and perhaps you) don’t have a vote.
The same media that has promoted her “flaws” has ignored the positions of her opponent and her actual policy statements, why because that is a winning message. Much better to call her a witch.
