Wow! talk about turning the “run away” caucus on the defensive

Over and over we have seen on Morning Joe we have seen the people on set in unison (Ari Fletcher the notable exception) go after the Afghanistan war as un-winnable as not in our interest. Richard Stengel is stressing that if we go, it will be people like the woman on Time’s cover that will suffer.

It is an important point to be made.

That time magazine cover (not available online yet) should be put up every time the debate on the war takes place.

Update: That isn’t even touching on the lives of the people who supported us that are already in danger thanks to the Wikileaks and the treasonous bastard(s) who fed them info.

Update 2: The cover is now up:

The cost of running away

Time’s write up is here.

Update 3: Sissy Willis links in a first rate post. That’s almost as good as a new Dr. Who adventure from Rich’s Comic Blog.

  5. Did you see John Stewart’s screed against Bradley Manning? bradass87, was apparently his moniker. Stewart made an interesting point about Manning. Who gave this guy a clearance? All they do to clear for a Top secret (25 yrs. ago, but I doubt much has changed) is a background check ,and then agents go around and ask the references that you supplied if you love your country and if you ever traveled overseas. If you have a clean record, you are able to get cleared. It was that easy.
Perhaps we need to pay more attention to those who handle our secrets. With that said, I’m still glad the light of day shines on our incompetence in prosecuting this war. It has been to long, our presence has a shelf life that has expired.

Reference Update #1: When our government betrayed those who aided us in Viet Nam, the left was rightfully outraged. When one of their own does the same thing today, they cheer.
